About the Temple
Situated on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Bapatla, this is one of the most famous Dattatreya temples in South India. The temple attracts thousands of devotees on every full moon day.
History: The temple is believed to be over 500 years old and has been a major center of the Dattatreya tradition in Andhra. The idol represents the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) in one form.
Significance: It is one of the five Datta Kshetras of South India. Thousands perform Datta Jayanti and full moon day special poojas here.
